The Beginning With Children Memorial Scholarship

The Beginning with Children Memorial Scholarship Fund began with a donation in memory of Enrique Rios, a beloved Legacy Network graduate who was tragically killed in the Orlando shooting of 2016. Generous support from donors continues to magnify the impact of the Memorial Scholarship. Since 2017, we have awarded nearly $100,000 to students who are driven by curiosity, a love of learning, and their deep commitment to community. These young scholars honor the memory of Enrique and all of our students whose lives ended far too soon.

Are you a high school senior who wants to apply for the Beginning with Children Memorial Scholarship? The application is available each Spring. Applications are reviewed holistically by a selection committee. They consider each applicant’s commitment to education, contributions to family and community, active participation in Legacy Network programs, and financial need.
