Tutoring and Test Prep
The Legacy Network offers free, in-person and virtual tutoring and standardized test preparation for students in the 8th grade, high school, and college. Tutors will help you on subjects such as algebra, calculus, inorganic chemistry, computer science, biology, music theory, and more. We also have free, in-person tutoring for standardized exams including the PSAT, SAT, SHSAT, Regents exams, and others.
SHSAT Support
The SHSAT is the Specialized High School Admissions Test. You take it in the eighth grade if you want to go to one of NYC’s specialized high schools. Sign-up for our free course to prepare for the SHSAT and learn more about your high school options. After all, high school is not just about taking tests—it’s also a place to explore your interests and talents!
SAT Support
Nervous about taking the SAT? Set yourself up for success and take our SAT prep course! This six-week course is open to 11th and 12th grade students and we make sure to personalize activities that respond to different learning styles. We offer SAT prep courses from two to four times a year, based on student interest. Sign-up to prepare for the SAT!
Tutoring: In-Person and Virtual
We offer tutoring for high school and college students in a variety of subjects. In-person tutoring takes place at Beginning with Children’s main office. You can also take up to six hours of virtual tutoring per week! Many students sign up for tutoring in English, math, science, and advanced placement classes. You can even get help with specialized classes like music theory, statistics, anatomy, economics, and more. Sign up and let us know what subject you need help with, when you are available, and whether you prefer in-person or virtual tutoring.
